Travelling to Yangshuo, China? Here are some handy hints and tips from Jeanie to help you have a more enjoyable visit.

- If you canot use chopsticks bring a fork with you.
- Always take your hotel business card with you .....if you get lost (impossible in Yangsou) or want to rest its a relief to be able to tell your taxi where to go.
- If travelling during hot weather bring a white wash & wear long sleeve shirt with you. This can easily be changed from casual to dressy and rinsed out ready for the next day. Easily removed when indoors if worn over T-Shirts. It will help protect you from the sun. Many varieties of hats are available for sale.
- An umbrella will also help keep you protected.
- If its winter a huge variety of hats, scarves & gloves are available for sale.
- Several large mens handkerciefs will come in handy for many jobs. During hot weather they can be worn as wet neck ties.
- Yangshou is a very safe place, but always be wary of pick pockets.
- Never carry anything more than a pkt of tissues in your pocket.
- Yangshou caters to all sizes: if clothes shopping is on your list of things to do, you will have choices.
