One of the big pleasures of Yangshuo is the diversity of food available. A speciality of the area is beer fish which can be a little spicy; if you cannot eat spicy food any chef will be happy to leave it out. All visitors to Yangshuo like to eat this at least once but different restaurants can serve it up a little differently. Another favourite is Guilin noodles. These can be ordered at the small food cafes for the locals or at the restaurant's it's a breakfast favourite.

My favourite fast food restaurant is the Muslim noodle shop. Put your order in, there is a big picture board on the wall, then watch as your noodles are freshly made. You will be very impressed by this. My favourite dish here is Chow Mien served with a small bowl of refreshing soup.

There is a huge selection of restaurants available. You could easily eat at a different restaurant each meal & still have many choices left.

A huge favourite of mine for sharing a banquet meal with friends is the Golden Dragon Restaurant.

The menu has pictures so it's easy to order a meal. It's a popular big restaurant which becomes very noisy at peak meal times.

Vegetarians are well catered to around the town but one of the classier restaurants is a Vegetarian Restaurant; serving superb food in a beautifully decorated environment it's a great choice for everyone.

Many restaurants serve both Chinese & Western meals making it easy to cater to all tastes. Good pizzas & hamburgers can be bought at the same place as authentic Chinese food.

The bakeries are probably among the best in China so its easy to pick up some snacks.

Fresh fruit is readily available everywhere but for the best prices go to the markets or the fruit shops. However it is easier to buy from the small vendors around the town who congregate in easy to find places.
