I am a mature age Kiwi/Aussie who has been living and working in China since January 2003. For the past three years I have been in Yangshuo; in the Guangxi Province.

While working at the local High School I had the opportunity to develop wonderful friendships with some of my senior students and I enjoy close contact with many of them. Frequent invitations to visit their homes in the countryside gave me a wonderful opportunity to go where tourists are never taken.

In late 2006 I began teaching at an English training college where mature age students came from all over the Peoples Republic of China to learn English. I was once again privileged to form very close relationships and make many new friends. My knowledge of the local area became extensive as I used the stunning environmental attractions as my classroom at every given opportunity.

As a mature age person I know better than most tourism companies what a mature aged tourist likes to do so I decided to use my local knowledge to show the visiting Chinese students the area; adding more depth to the usual touristy stuff with less time spent on buses and more time enjoying the atmosphere. The feedback I received from my impromptu tours was so encouraging I decided to offer my tour services to others - so Tour With Jeanie was born.
